  • Do blotting but avoid wiping.

Tips To Remove Stains From Natural Stone:

Oil-based stains – These stains make natural stone to look darker and can be removed by cleaning gently with a household detergent, mineral spirits, acetone or ammonia to dissolve the source of the stain.

Organic stains – Organic stains tend to disappear when the actual source of the stain is removed. Exposing the stained area to direct sunlight can make the stain to disappear. Blotting the stained area with the mixture of 12% hydrogen peroxide and a few drops of ammonia can effectively remove the stains.

Ink Stains – Ink stains on light-coloured stone can be removed using bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Lacquer thinner can effectively remove the stains from darker stones.

Paint Stains – If there is a small amount of paint, you can remove it using lacquer thinner. For large paint stains, you need to use commercial liquid paint stripper.
